The Jaguar Cichlid is quite simply, a beautifully stunning fish, unfortunately it is only suited to experienced aquarists with very large aquariums. These fish are too large to be responsibly stocked by shops. If you do wish to keep these fish and you have a suitably sized environment try to obtain a grown pair that you can observe getting along before you purchase. The Jaguar Cichlid is intolerant of its own kind and a dominant fish will aggressively bully a weaker individual, usually to the point of death. Provide a few hiding spots amongst rocks and wood. Very few fish can be mixed with the Jaguar Cichlid, and those that may be suited are only a guideline. Only for experienced aquarists.
